What was brought to our attention by the intrepid Jonn Lilyea yesterday is confirmed this morning by Amy Sullivan at Time.com.

Jonn Lilyea blogged that Cornel West was an attendee at Jeremiah Wright’s abominable National Press Club performance. I found this to be of great interest, as Cornel West is an unpaid advisor to Obama — he is one of two members of Obama’s “Black Advisory Council“, which I have blogged about here and here.

So  was Cornel West at the National Press Club as a Wright supporter?

Amy Sullivan writes:

“But while Wright is a theologian, a teacher and a pastor, he is ultimately a performer. In front of a cheering crowd of supporters that included a whistling Cornel West, he gave into temptation and lustily went after his critics.”

The implications of this are clear. Obama should now be asked to answer regarding his relationship with West. (Who is also, by the way, an avowed Marxist.)

If Obama “didn’t know” about Wright’s most objectionable sermons, did he also “not know” that his advisor, Cornel West, was one of Wright’s biggest fans?
